This is our next show! Pretty exciting huh.
Well we've also just booked a couple of ace singer-songwriters too in Luke Ritchie and Justin Townes Earle. Hit the Upcoming Shows tab for these and more!

We've a couple more bits up our sleeve, so keep checking the pages or sign up to our mailing list below. Cheers!

The Smittens, Standard Fare, Orca Team + Badges
The Basement, York. Mon. 9th July 2012. 8.00pm

The first of our shows for over four months is a post-Indietracks pop party, sure to tickle your senses. Burlington, VT's The Smittens are Max Andrucki, Colin Clary, Dana Kaplan, Holly Chagnon, and David Zacharis. They switch up instruments, song-writing, and singing to create catchy, harmonydriven twee ballads, pop anthems, and queer love songs—always brilliantly lyrical, and often brazenly political. Formed on a whim at a party in 2002 the Smittens have emerged as one of America's bestloved underground indiepop quintets, releasing 3 full-length albums, a remix ep, and a handful of singles and compilation appearances.

Three great support acts too. Many of you will know Standard Fare, they have just released their second album for Melodic and they've visited us a whopping five times before. An indie-pop trio armed with killer hooks, great songs and in singer Emma Cooper, a wonderfully strong and emotive vocal. Three snappy dresser's from Seattle, WA. Orca Team have been tickling our ears for a few months now, and low and behold they were in the UK for Indietracks too, so pester we did and visit us they shall. Their second album of ace, heady, surf-pop was released on Happy Happy Birthday To Me Records this week, and this is a mighty rare chance to catch them in the UK. Opening for us will be local rackety pop duo Badges, featuring Mr David Mudie from Missing Kids on guitar and vocals and Jade Blood on fine moves and percussion. Really good fun this pair.

Tickets are £5 in advance, and £7 on the door.
